Haryana despite its small area has kept pace with other major states in economic growth. The state is strategically located at the center of the Northern part of India while it neighbors the national capital Delhi from three sides. Haryana is a heartening success story of manufacturing growth - led by the automobile and transport equipment industry. Manufacture of food products, basic metals and chemical & chemical products are other major industries in the state. In addition, the IT/ITeS sector also provides a major impetus to the state's economic activity.

In a bid to boost the 'Make in India' initiative taken by the Hon. Prime minister Shri. Narendra Modi and develop high value investment opportunities in the state of Haryana; the Government of Haryana led by the Hon. Chief Minister Shri. Manohar Lal Khattar has organized a 'Happening Haryana Global Investor Summit 2016' on 7th and 8th March 2016. The summit aims to establish Haryana a premier Investment destination for both foreign as well as domestic investors, develop strong macro-economic system through equitable and sustainable growth, create jobs for the local population, and provide a platform for new ideas and innovations for future investment opportunities in to the state.
